Q

London Embankment Project - Take me through this advice you gave on surveys to structural beams.

A

It was advised that ISG should undertake the condition surveys with the specialist guidance from structural engineers and cost advice from specialist subcontractors as the structural engineers would be able to validate the extent of repair works required and the specialist subcontractors would be able to provide accurate cost advice.

Q

What was the basis of your recommendations?

A

To ensure cost certainty the surveys were given to the subcontractors who would undertake the remedial works to price. Programme could also be achieved as ISG could undertake the surveys in a short turnaround. The risks of identifying the remedial works were supported by the structural engineer and specialist subcontractors.
