o Joinery – alternative joinery units for social seating, tea points and cupboards offered.
o BMS – Using an alternative contractor to the incumbent.
o Electrical –offering alternative lighting, omitting feature lighting and removing underfloor cable tray by instead clipping services directly to the slab.
o Mechanical –using alternative Air curtains, AHU’s, Attenuators, Water Heaters and Grilles.
Explain how you justified value for money.
Value for money was justified by offering alternative materials that did not perform differently and did not offer a different aesthetic performance. This was supported by providing all data sheets for alternative materials.
How much did the retendering exercise generate
The re-tendering exercise generated £490k worth of savings.
What about combining the packages?
Combining packages offered a total saving of £890k.
