Chemistry- Reversible Reactions Flashcards
1
Q
What is a catalyst
A
A substance that increases rate of a chemical reaction without being used up
2
Q
What does a catalyst do
A
- They reduce the amount of energy needed for a successful collision
- makes collisions more successful
- speeds up the reactions
- provides a surface for the molecules to attach to, which increase amount of collisions
3
Q
What happens in a reversible reaction
A
The products can react to produce the original reactants
4
Q
What happens to the forward reaction if the backwards reaction is exothermic
A
Its endothermic
