What is the general aim of security?
The safeguarding of everybody involved in civil aviation
What should each CS do with regards to security?
A national civil aviation security programme and must inform ICAO and send a copy of their security programme to ICAO
How must states protect cargo, mail and other goods?
- screening prior to landing
- access control
- approval and screening of agents
What must the PIC informed with regards to armed persons?
How many there are onboard and their seat location (NO NAMES)
How must approve law enforcement officers on a plane?
- enroute states
- departure and destination states
- airport authorities
What are CSs to ensure with regards to segregation of pax?
No possibility of mixing between people subjected to security control and those who are not
What must be done if mixing does occur?
Pax and their baggage must be re-screened
Who must be informed of deportees and persons in custody are to be carried?
Operator
Can the operator and PIC refuse to transport deportees?
Yes
Who else travelling on a plane must be made known to the PIC?
Potentially disruptive pax who have been subjected to administrative or judicial proceedings
What much each CS ensure with regards to victims of unlawful interference?
Their safety until their journey can be continued
What can’t be refused to unlawfully interefered aircraft?
- the provision of navigation aids
- air traffic services
- permission to land
What just be done to an unlawful interfered aircraft when it has landed?
Must not be allowed to takeoff unless it’s in the interests of human life

By how much must yiu change your altitude when hijacked?
Below 290 = 1000ft
Above 290 = 500ft
