What does a T indicate?
Indicates landing direction (top of T = landing direction)
What colours must the signalling lamp be able to emit?
Red, blue, green and white
What colours are runway markings and what is the exception to this?
White (except on pre-threshold areas exceeding 60m)
What colours are taxiway markings?
Yellow
On four parallel runways how are the runways indentified?
Increase of QDM on two of the runways
Where are runway centreline markings used?
On PAVED runways
How is it determined how many piano keys are there on a runway?
Width / 3.7 = number of piano keys
What is a transverse stripe?
Basic marking for a displaced threshold
How is the aiming point?
By two conspicuous white stripes
For rwys of 2400m or more how far down the runway is the aiming point?
400m
Where does touchdown zone markings begin and what is the spacing between each pair?
150m from threshold, 150m spacing
Where are rwy side strip markings used?
On all precision runways and paved runways where there is a lack of distinction between rwy edges and surrounding terrain
What colour are apron safety lines?
Any conspicuous colour that will contrast with that used for stand markings
Describe the centreline of a taxiway?
Continuous yellow line
How are non load bearing surfaces indicated?
Side stripes and a double yellow line
How is a rwy holding position marked?
By a mandatory sign
