What is Chorionic Villus Sampling
similar to amniocentesis but carried out earlier, between the 9th and 12th week.
A needle is inserted into the placenta and threadlike projections (villi) are removed and tested

the use of sound waves that are too high f a frequency to be heard, the waves are reflected by the fetus
