What are the 4 shapes of bone?
Flat - Thin, flat shape, usually curved
Long - longer than wide
Irregular - Do not fit in any other group
Short - Round or cube shaped
How many bones does the skull consist of?
22 bones and it protects the brain
What are the immovable joints in the skull called?
Coronal suture

What is the top of the skull called?
Calvaria - often removed to view the interior of the skull

Extra, small bones form along the lambdoid suture

By squamous sutures
