Kicked them off their land (like Custer) and when they resisted we either forced them at gun point or sometimes just slaughtered them like sand creek

They were longhorns (Texas longhorns)
Industry grew because we love beef
Cowboys drive cattle up north so they could be transferred to meat packing industry

Supported everyone moving west struggling like farmers and people who lived in soddies (home built of blocks of turf in ground)
