- They have been taught to feel this way by their parents.This is an example of primary socialization.
- Their parents are supposed to teach them values and they have learned from their parents not to trust ‘those people’.

- Ignorance Theory
- They don’t know anything about the group that doesn’t celebrate Life Day. They are judging them based on their own cultural values and beliefs.

“I can’t believe I am on welfare and Mr. X down the road is living in luxury! I think it’s about time the people of this country made it clear to people like Mr. X that they are no longer welcome here!”

- Frustration Aggression Theory
- They are upset about their own financial status and are upset that another group is financially well off and are taking out their aggression on this other group/person.

“Everyone knows that our taxes have gone up because we are having to pay for all Those People to use our healthcare system. Such a drain on our resources!”

- Competition Theory
- Whenever an economic crisis is faced by society people incorrectly assume that policies and the people those policies are regarding are the cause.
- They are frustrated about the fact that their taxes have increased and blame it on Those People.
