Body Composition/Postural Distortions Flashcards
Bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA)
A body composition assessment technique that estimates body fat percentage by measuring the resistance to the flow of electrical currents introduced into the body.
Dernin Worsley Test (4 sites)
tricep, bicep, subscapularis, super iliac
Archimedes Principle
The assumption states that the volume of fluid displaced is equivalent to the volume of an object fully immersed in that fluid or to the specific fraction of the volume below the surface.
Kinetic chain checkpoints
The five areas of the body that are monitored during movement assessments and exercise: are foot/ankle, knees, lumbo-pelvic-hip complex, shoulders, and head.
Anatomic Position
The position with the body erect, the arms at the sides, and the palms forward. It is the position of reference for anatomic nomenclature.
Osteokinematics
Movement of a limb that is visible.
Arthrokinematics
The description of joint surface movement; consists of three major types: roll, slide, and spin.
