Blood supply to the brain Flashcards

1
Q

What are the four arteries supplying blood in the brain?

A

Two pairs
1. Internal carotid – base of your brain

Q

Whats the circle of willis?

A
  • All blood vessels forming loops to supply all brain – blood can branch out
  • Two vertebral arteries – hug brain stem and form basilar artery
  • Two internal carotid arteries – base of brain and join circle of Willis
  • COW provides astomosis
  • Also made of two anteriorly cerebral arteries, two middle cerebral arteries and two posterior cerebral arteries
