Producer
What is a producer?
An organism that produce it’s own food using energy from the sun
Which organism are usually producers?
Green plants
They make glucose through photosynthesis
What is a plant’s biomass?
Mass of the living material.
Can be thought of as energy stored in a plant.
How do green plants make biological molecules which are the plants biomass?
When a green plant makes glucose, some of it is used to make other biological molecules.
How is biomass transfer?
When organisms eat other organisms, the biomass is transferred.
How is most life on Earth supported?
Photosynthetic organism support nearly all lit on Earth
Who are producers eaten by?
Primary consumers (herbivores)
Who are primary consumers eaten by?
Secondary consumers (carnivores)
Who are secondary consumers eaten by?
Tertiary consumers (carnivores)
