Animal Suffering
Darwin points to the huge amounts of animal suffering undergone, which is in no way balanced.

Inclusion of Hell
Existence of hell shows god has anticipated the world would go wrong.
Why does a benevolent god allow eternal suffering.

John Hick asked whether his theodicy is plausible in the light of science.
Literally interpretation and Angles cannot be scientifically verified.
A02- Always has a positive and negative, why not good and evil?
FED - how can a perfect world go wrong?
Logical contradiction in saying the world had gone wrong b/c it would mean the evil had created itself out of nothing.
Which is impossible.
Logical Problem is evil existing at all.
In a perfect world, where there is no knowledge of good or evil.
How can a man choose to disobey god.
The fact that A+E chose to disobey shows that evil must have already existed.
Evolution and Genesis
The idea God created the perfect world, which humans destroyed, contradicts evolutionary theory.
Which suggests the world was created from an earlier stage of chaos.
Issues Seminal Prescence
The idea we were all seminally present in Adam can be rejected biologically.
Meaning we arnt guilty for Adams sin and G isn’t just in letting us suffer.
A02- Genesis doesn’t have to be literal
Gods mercy in election
Gods selection of ppl for heaven shows his mercy.
Yet many argue its irrational and inconsistent.
A02- Looks inconsistent to us but G sees the bigger picture.
Augs inconsistent use of FW defence
In book1:Aug argues responsibility for actions lies with the person who performs it.
In book2: Aug states we cannot overcome our condition for human ignorance.
