What things will not be affected by power removal
Lights in the right of way Station lights Signal lights drainage pumping equipment Tunnel lights Train headlights
NOTE : interior subway lights being on or off are no indication that power is removed
When members are to operate under tracks they should request that
TA PERSONNEL place wooden slippers on contact shoes of the effected cars
If power is off on arrival the FD DISPATCHER must be notified to confirm. Once this is confirmed you should expect no train movement on the effected tracks
No it still possible because train operators are instructed to coast into next station
If power removal is not required FDNY may not walk down catwalks to RECON
No for purpose of reconnaissance an officer and one FF may operate as a team from platform or catwalks .. Do not enter or cross tracks for this purpose

Additional members every 100 yards
The LCC should try to obtain additional info from the train dispatcher through the phone in the token booth he should relay this info to______and also relay the phone number in booth to _______
- Company officer and IC

If any members are not needed in relay where should they go?
Any member after truck LCC not needed in relay( as determined by truck officer) should proceed to location of the incident with truck officer

Until assured there is enough hose to reach fire

When fire is under the platform members will not be permitted in track areas unless?

If a member encounters a OOS POWER removal box what should he do to shut power
Use telephone to call rail control center and request power off..

Power removal via power removal box is automatically done for any emergency in tracks

If you use the power removal box or it’s associated phone to remove power it is not necessary to get confirmation from out dispatcher at this point

If using the phone at blue light to call the token booth and the token booth is in same exchange you must dial_____first and then the number and if not in the same exchange you dial ______ first then the number
