If members receive transformer registration info or are asked where to send registrations they shall direct them to be sent too
Toxic substance unit - BFP
Combustible material storage in relation to transformers
- No combustible material within PCB TRANSFORMER ENCLOSURE
- No combustible material within 5 meters (16.4 feet ) of “ PCB TRANSFORMER ENCLOSURE
- No combustible material within 5 meters (16.4 feet) of unenclosed PCB TRANSFORMER
Decon procedures for transformer incidents will only be implemented when members or equipment are exposed to levels of pcbs
50 ppm or higher
A Nyc owned transformer classified as “PCB CONTAMINATED TRANSFORMER” 50-499 ppm will have a decal with
Letters and stripping on yellow background
6”x6” square
Bottom box will show name of testing company and or ppm count of PCB
A NYC owned transformer classified as “ NON-PCP “ 0-49 ppm will have a decal
Letters and striping on blue background
6”x6” square
NYC owned PCB TRANSFORMERS “ 500 ppm and higher will have same markings EPA .. The EPA decal will be
Letters and striping on yellow OR white. Background
6”x 6” square down to 2”x 2 “ square depending upon size of equipment
The first arriving officer at a premise containing PCPs shall contact a person in charge of premise and determine
Location and extent of fire or emergency
And amount and type of hazardous material involved
This person may be unaware of the presences of pcbs and there hazards
