What are the side effects of quinine?
A
- cinchonism (tinnitus, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache)
- hypoglycaemia
- hypotension
- QT prolongation (cardiac moitoring)

What are the side effects of mefloquine?
A
- vomiting and dizziness
- c/i in patients for preexisting neurologic and psychiatric illness
- QT prolongation

- resistance now common for p. falciparum
