what are the indications for use of aminoglycosides?
A
UTI, intra abdominal infections, bacteraemia Mycobacterium tuberculosis (streptomycin)

what are the adverse effects of aminoglycosides?
A
Nephrotoxicity (5 - 25%) - reversible
Ototoxicity (3- 14%) - vertigo, ataxia (vestibular) or tinnitus, hearing loss (cochlear)
