The purpose of the Chattanooga Police Department Volunteer Chaplain Corps is two fold:
1) to offer spiritual support to CPD officers, employees and their families and
2) to provide spiritual support to people who are victims of crime and trauma in the Chattanooga community.

Except as otherwise specified, matters of a personal nature that are discussed between police chaplains and
others shall remain private and confidential. Members of the clergy are not required to reveal penitential
communications. However, clergy must report child, elder, or dependent adult abuse discovered while
acting in any of the following capacities:
(1) Marriage, family or child counselor.
(2) Religious practitioner who diagnoses, examines, or treats children, elders, or dependent adults
The chaplain should perform at least part of his/her
