A

Any officer present and observing another officer using force that is clearly beyond objectively reasonable under the circumstances shall intercede to prevent the use of excessive force

What are the five levels of resistance posed by a subject?

A
  1. Compliant
    - offers no resistance
  2. Passive resistance
    - not complying or cooperative
    - taking minimal physical action to prevent an officer from taking control
  3. Active resistance
    - verbal or physical actions are directed at preventing an officer from taking custody or taking control
    - Ex-walking or running away, breaking the officer’s grip
  4. Aggressive resistance
    - displays intent to harm the officer, themselves, or another person
  5. Aggravated aggressive resistance
    - subjects actions are likely to result in death or serious bodily harm
