A
No.
- There will be no discipline, administrative action, or report
- The goal is to resolve issues and restore relationships through communication
- Voluntary process

- Supervisory

Supervisory Referral to employee mediation program
A
- Supervisor may recommend EMP when submitting a complaint to IAB
- May recommend EMP for resolution of issues or disputes that have not risen to the level of formal complaint
- Can be started with any type of communication with the appropriate IAB lieutenant

Successful mediation (EMP)
A
- Complainant is intentionally disruptive or uncooperative
- To the degree the process cannot be facilitated
- Or complainant agrees to mediation but fails to complete the process

Failed mediation (EMP)
A
- Employee is intentionally disruptive or uncooperative
- To the degree that the process cannot be facilitated
- Or commits a serious violation of department policy during the process

Is the employee required to participate in Employee Mediation Program
A
No. The process is voluntary however, once the process is started it is mandatory.

What happens after a failed mediation (EMP)
A
- Completes normal investigative process concerning SOC’s
- Advises immediate supervisor of Employment Diversity Section concerning employee vs. employee disputes that were not the result of a formal SOC
