Who shall be responsible for:
- Maintaining his/her station and apparatus in accordance with the guidelines set forth in this document
- Ensuring that the officers who work in his/her station are familiar with the requirements of FIR 349
- Installing, activating, inspecting and maintaining emergency eye wash stations and showers in accordance with the guidelines set forth in this document
- Ensuring that station personnel are familiar with the operation and maintenance of emergency eye wash stations and showers
- Keeping maintenance records in accordance with the guidelines set forth in this document
TFD Station Captains and Facility Supervisors.
Who shall be responsible for
- Ensuring that work practices and conditions within TFD stations, facilities and apparatus conform to the guidelines set forth in this document
- Ensuring that all apparatus backing is done in accordance with the guidelines set forth in this document
- All personnel under his/her supervision are familiar with the requirements of FIR 349
TFD Company Officers and Facility Supervisors.
What are Class I Liquids (Flammable Liquids)?
Liquids with a flash point below 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37.8 degrees Celsius).
What are Class II Liquids (Combustible Liquids)?
Liquids with a flash point at or above 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37.8 degrees Celsius) and below 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 degrees Celsius).
Who shall conduct station and facility inspections in accordance with TFD Policy 5012, and how often?
TFD Battalion Chiefs shall conduct monthly station and facility inspections in accordance with TFD Policy 5012.
How closely shall TFD officers Monitor the safety of working conditions and procedures in TFD stations and facilities?
TFD officers shall:
a. Monitor the safety of working conditions and procedures in TFD stations and facilities as closely as safety conditions at incident scenes
b. Maintain his/her station in accordance with FIR 349
Where station dimensions permit, how much clearance shall be maintained around apparatus and vehicles parked in the fire station.

Emergency eye wash stations with refillable tanks shall be:
a. Positioned within 50 feet of the hazard, requiring no more than 10 seconds to reach
b. Readily available, accessible and free of obstruction, with no storage in, on or around the unit

d. Maintained weekly and every six months in accordance with the guidelines set forth in this document
Emergency eye wash stations with refillable tanks shall be wall mounted so that:
a. The flushing nozzles are not less than 33 inches and no greater than 45 inches above the floor
b. There is a minimum of six inches from the nearest obstruction
Plumbed eye wash stations and/or emergency showers shall be:
a. Activated weekly and inspected annually for proper function
b. Readily available, accessible and free of obstruction, with no storage in, on or around the unit
Work rests shall be kept adjusted sufficiently close to the work with a maximum opening of __________ to prevent the work from being jammed between the wheel and the rest.

First aid kits at TFD stations and facilities shall contain at least the following items:
a. Six (6) individually wrapped 4 inch X 4 inch gauze pads
b. Four (4) individually wrapped sterile combination pads

d. Four (4) individually wrapped sterile, cling type soft roller bandages in assorted sizes
e. Two (2) triangular bandages
f. One (1) pair of EMT-type utility scissors
g. One (1) pair of tweezers
h. One (1) package of assorted adhesive bandages
i. Two (2) pairs of disposable gloves
TFD apparatus present at an incident scene shall carry first aid kits that contain at least the following:
a. One (1) utility scissors, EMT type
b. One (1) CPR barrier
c. Three (3) rolls of 1-inch adhesive tape
d. Six (6) 4-inch x 4-inch sterile, individually wrapped gauze pads e. Four (4) sterile, individually wrapped combination pads
f. Four (4) sterile, individually wrapped soft roller bandages, cling type
g. Two (2) sterile, individually wrapped burn sheets
h. Two (2) triangular bandages
i. One (1) sterile, multi-trauma dressing
j. Two (2) pairs of disposable gloves
k. Two (2) wire splints or equivalent
Heavy objects should be stored where?
