The Administrative Battalion Chief for Safety.

Question 2

For the purposes of this document, who does management include?

Answer 2

The Fire Chief, Deputy Chiefs, Assistant Chiefs, Battalion Chiefs, Medical Services Officers, Captains, Lieutenants, Paramedic Supervisors, Facility Supervisors and the FCC Manager.

Question 3

What is managements responsibility in regards to Fitness for Duty?

Answer 3

1. TFD Management shall ensure that employees expected to do interior structural firefighting are physically capable of performing the duties that may be assigned to them.
2. TFD Management shall not permit employees with known physical limitations to participate in structural firefighting emergency activities, unless the employee has been released by a physician to participate in such activities.

What is managements responsibility in regards to Accident Prevention?

Answer 4

1. TFD Management shall establish and maintain an Accident Prevention Program that includes:
   a. Programs for training employees in the fundamentals of accident prevention
   b. Procedures to be used by Fire Department Safety Officers and Incident Commanders to ensure that emergency medical care is provided for members on duty
   c. An accident investigation program

What is the rule in regards to taking prescription drugs while on duty?

This rule shall not apply to persons taking prescription drugs as directed by a HCP, providing such use does not endanger the worker or others
