Who shall be responsible for maintaining this document?
The Administrative Battalion Chief for Safety.
What are TFD employees responsibilities?
a. Cooperate with the TFD Safety Program and with other employees to eliminate workplace accidents
b. Apply the principles of accident prevention in his/her work
c. Attend, when on duty, required training and/or orientation programs designed to increase competency in occupational safety and health
d. Notify his/her direct supervisor immediately of unsafe work practices and/or unsafe condition with equipment or apparatus and/or in workplaces
e. Report any on-the-job injury or illness to his/her supervisor in accordance with the guidance set forth in TFD Policy 5013 3.
What shall TFD employees not do?
a. Remove, displace, damage, destroy or carry off any safety device, safeguard, notice or warning furnished for use in any workplace b. Interfere in any way with the use of any safety device, method or process adopted by TFD for the protection of any TFD employee
4. Failure to follow safety regulations may result in disciplinary action.
What does this policy say about being under the influence of drugs or alcohol?
- TFD employees shall not participate in any TFD operation or other function when under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
a. Working while taking prescription drugs as directed by a Health Care Provider is allowable, provided such use does not endanger the employee or others
