What does SARA stand for
Scanning, Analysis, Response, Assessment
Actions to solve problems requiring time and resources not normallly availble to officers responding to dispatched CFS.
How can such problems such as crime or quality of life be reported?
Identified by officer, reported to a police officer by citizen or submitted by citizen on LVMPD 132 which is the service request form.
SARA problem-solving process, what is the initial step to begin the process?
completing an LVMPD 241 (automated), Community Policing Service Request, and forwarding it to the appropriate area command COP office.
Lvmpd officers should define problems and document pertinent information on what LVMPD form? For small problems or ongoing problems requiring spots checks, what form should you use?

Who will you coordinate with when submitting a SARA problem solving process?
the appropriate COP officer to analyze problems and determine responses.
Addresses problems with planned, systematic responses. Ideally responses will accomplish one of the following:
a. eliminate the problem
b. reduce the number of incidents it creates
c. reduce the seriousness of incidents it creates
d. design methods for a better handling of the incident
e. remove the problem from police consideration
