Epilepsy :
One off seizure
- 1 year car
- 5 years HGV

Diagnosis of epilepsy (need to reapply for license)

  • 1 year fit free car
  • 10 years off meds

Stroke/TIA

  • 1 month car
  • 1 year HGV

Diabetes
- hypo that requires help = cannot drive for 3 months

Insulin

  • restricted license
  • have to get it updated every 1-3 years (1 year in HGV)
  • extensive monitoring required with HGV

Insulin (<3mnths)
- don’t have to inform DVLA if car but do if HGV

Other meds

  • no need to inform DVLA if car
  • need to inform DVLA if HGV

Eye conditions - need to inform DVLA
