A

The small intestine is where food is absorbed. It is lined with villi and they are lined with micro villi. Nutrients are absorbed through diffusion.

What are the villi adaptations

A
  • large blood supply
  • thin epithelium wall and thin capillary walls which increases speed of diffusion
  • blood has low concentration of nutrients which increases the speed of diffusion
  • villi also have micro villi
