4
Q

What is the effect of balanced and unbalenced forces.

A

Balanced is when the resultant force is 0 because all forces are equal. Unbalanced force is when the resultant force is bigger or smaller than 0.

7
Q

Why does friction cause heat.

A

Because friction is caused by movement of atoms and the faster movement means more heat generated.

Define weight

A

Is the amount of gravitational force acting on an object

18
Q

Unit of weight

A

newtons (N)

19
Q

On the moon what would be different

A

your weight - depends on gravity

20
Q

What is gravity

A

10 N/kg

21
Q

How is m/s² related to N/kg?

A

They are the same thing

22
Q

Define velocity.

A

Combination of speed and direction.

23
Q

Unit of velocity.

A

m/s

24
Q

Example of velocity and acceleration.

A
V = North at 5m/s.
A = 5m/s².
25
Q

How calculate final velocity

A

Vf = Vi + a * t

Vf: final velocity
Vi: initial velocity
a: acceleration
t: time

26
Q

Define terminal velocity

A

The constant speed attained by a body under the force of gravity when the resultant force is 0

27
Q

How to calculate weight

A

W = M*G

28
Q

What is delta V and how to calculate.

A

Change in Velocity and its Vf - Vi

29
Q

How to calculate velocity.

A

V = A*T

30
Q

How to calculate distance

A

D = S*T

31
Q

What’s on the x-axis?

A

Independent

32
Q

What’s on the y-axis?

A

Dependant

33
Q

How to calculate diagonal force.

A

Pythagoras horizontal and vertical.

34
Q

How does speed relate to drag?

A

Drag is the friction force created by air resistance. As speed increases so does drag. Eventually the forces become balanced and drag equals thrust. This means the speed is constant and the resultant force = 0.

35
Q

how to decrease friction?

A

Make the object aerodynamic to reduce drag because it would break through air particles easier. Make smoother surface because less interaction of molocules. Less mass to help F = MA.

36
Q

Gravity on moon.

A

1.6N

37
Q

How to calculate distance in speed time graph?

A

Calculate area and divide by two.

38
Q

Define force

A

a push or pull acting on an object

39
Q

What axis is speed on

A

y

40

A

x

41
Q

What axis is distance on

A

y
