What is the classic pain that is associated with appendicitis?
RLQ in the periumbilical area
What other type of pain is associated with appendicitis?
Rebound pain
What is rebound pain?
Pain that is severe after release of palpating hand
What does it mean if the pain suddenly goes away in appendicitis?
It can indicate that the appendix has ruptured
If the appendix ruptures, what is the patient at very high risk for?
Peritonitis
What age do most people experience appendicitis?
10-12 years of age

Begins as dull, steady pain in periumbilical area
