Whiting's Information Processing Model Flashcards

Q
Describe Whiting’s information processing model
A
At the input stage, the performer will observe the information from the display in receptor systems.
The perceptual mechanisms will then use selective attention to filter out irrelevant information from the display.
The translatory mechanisms will then use the DCR process to choose an appropriate response.
The effector mechanisms will receive a coded impulse which will cause the muscular systems to contract.
The performer will then receive feedback about the result.
