FHV - herpes virus

Chlamyophilia
FeLV - feline leukaemia virus
FIV Feline immunodeficiency virus
What are the core dog viral vaccines against?
CDV - distemper virus
CPV-2 - parvo
CAV - adenovirus (hepatitis)
What are the non-core dog viral vaccines?
CPiV - parainfluenza
Lepto
CCoV - canine corona virus
What are the cat and dog non-core vaccines
Tracheobronchitis - BB (kennel cough)
Rabies
What does efficacy of vaccination depend on?
MDA levels
Why are vaccinations repeated?
To cover unknown MDA levels
When should you avoid live vaccines?
Pregnant animals
Multivalent products incorporate more than one vaccine. What is the advantages and disadvantages of this
Easier administration
Less able to do risk/benefit analysis for individual animal
Duration of immunity has to be for product of shortest duration
What is the problem with vaccines?
Lack of efficacy
