The disjunctive pronoun can replace the subject pronoun in compound subjects.
Lola et moi allons préparer le dîner pour nos amis. Lola and I are going to prepare dinner for our friends.
Noëlle et lui adorent le fromage de chèvre. Noëlle and he love goat cheese.
Lui et moi allons faire la vaisselle. He and I are going to do dishes.
The disjunctive pronoun is used in conjunction with another subject noun or pronoun. Here again, it is for emphasis.
Youssef et moi, nous allons rénover cette maison. Youssef and I, we are going to renovate this house. Toi et moi, on va aller à Venise au printemps.
You and I, we’re going to Venice in the spring. Vous et lui, vous allez m’aider à trier tous ces papiers.
You and he, you are going to help me sort out all these papers.
For additional emphasis, the disjunctive pronoun followed by -même(s) translates as -self/-selves.
Je peux le faire moi-même. I can do it myself.
Est-ce qu’il a construit sa maison lui-même? Did he build his house himself ?
Nous allons résoudre ce problème nous-mêmes. We are going to resolve this problem ourselves.
