We pinch the nail until it turns white and see how long it takes to come back to the pink color. It assesses peripheral circulation.

2-4 seconds - sluggish return.
>4 seconds - poor return (cyanosis, impairment, etc.)
Clubbed finger - 180 degrees and more. Looks almost round! (T/F?)
