Unachievable targets Flashcards
What must be achievable in for the health improvement plan to git ahead ?
Short and long term targets .
List some of the reasons why some targets may be hard to achieve ?
expectations are set to high , targets are not clear , there are too many targets , timing is wrong , targets are not suitable for the individual , fear of not being able to meet targets , not being in the right frame of mind to commit to the plan .
How will unrealistic expectations arise ?
when planned targets do not allow enough time -people need time to make decisions e.g gradually reducing the amount of cigarettes smoked rather than quitting , the planned targets are to large , planned can cause anxiety as people will have to socialise with others .
What can happen with unclear targets ?
A persons can give up if they dont know what to do , people switch learning difficulties must require a protestation of their targets to that information is clear .
What can happen if a person if given too many targets ?
Multiple targets can get overwhelming and people may not know here to start as they are expected to change different aspects of their life , stopping smoking as well as reducing alcohol intake may be unachievable .
What can happen if their is poor timing in a persons achievement plan ?
Both the start time and the finish time should be appropriate for the person , targets may be unachievable if they are set in the holiday season , there is not enough time to achieve the target .
