History and physical exam
exclude a GI infection
colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, biopsy

Treatment

A

mild: modify diet
moderate: anti inflammatories + AB
- steroid for better response
immune modulator drugs
- methotrexate= decrease immune cells (impairs immune cell growth)
Surgery: drainage of exudate and preparing fistulas
