They focus on:
1. Unlocking and increasing the supply of land to meet housing needs
2. Creating and sustaining well served mixed communities where people enjoy living and working
3. Improving the quality of life and enhancing the environment
Park Hill Sheffield
. Occupies a prime position just outside the city centre
. Provides a striking backdrop to city centre regeneration projects
. A gateway to Sheffield
. In 2003, with English Partnerships the City Council began to put together a vision for the future of the estate to transform Park Hill into a fashionable City centre
What did Park Hill used to look like
. Flats were opened in 1961 as a solution to the problem of overcrowding
. It was designated a grade 2 listed building - Europe’s largest
. Over time the building has decayed, there is poor noise insulation and easy getaway routes for muggers
. For years council struggled to find flat tennants
Who was involved in the project
. Taken forward under a JointVenture Agreement between sakeholders

. English partnership funding nearly 15mil
. Project fuding via private sectory nearly 10mil
What did plans include:
. A brand new doctor’s surgery and nursery facilities
. Retail and leisure facilities
. High quality public and private spaces
. Around 580 flats for sale on the open market
. Flats for rent and low cost home ownership
