The Triadan Numbering system uses 3 numbers. What is the purpose of each number?
1st identifies the quadrant of the mouth
2nd & 3rd identify the tooth

1xx = right maxillary 2xx = left maxillary 3xx = left mandibular 4xx = right mandibular
Where does numbering of the teeth begin?
Front of the mouth
What rule is used for species that have fewer teeth?
Rule of 4 and 9
What does the rule of 4 and 9 state?
the canine tooth is always 04 and the first molar is always 09
How are deciduous teeth identified?
5 = right maxillary (upper) 6 = left maxillary (upper) 7 = left mandibular (lower) 8 = right mandibular (lower)
What is the primary advantage of the Triadan numbering system?
It can be used with nonalphanumeric computers
