A place where transportation starts and finishes.
What are some examples of transport hubs / gateways ?
Ferry terminals, ports used by cruises, rail / coach stations, airports.
What do these hubs / gateways need to provide ?
Safe access for travellers to the different forms of transport as well as offering catering services, tickets and ticketing services, information about available transport etc.
Why are airports important ?
They provide a form of travel for inbound and outbound tourists, leisure and business travel, lounge facilities, shops and services etc.
Why are other businesses important for airports ?
Businesses pay rent to the airports earning them additional revenue, enhancing the experience of the customers.
What are some of the facilities for ferry passengers sailing out of Dover ?
Refreshments, shuttle bus, toilets and showers, cash and currency services, shops.
What are some of the facilities available for cruise passengers sailing out of Dover ?
A greater variety of shops, washrooms, Cafe bars, lounges, porters to help with luggage etc.
