Catered, or self - catered.

Independently owned , or part of a hotel chain.
What do hotel chains offer in their hotels ?
The hotels tend to be less personal as they are catering for large amounts of people but they provide products and services such as rooms, food and drink, housekeeping, reception etc.
What do four or five star rated hotels offer and what is an example ?
Deluxe rooms and suites as well as standard rooms, restaurant, bar, swimming pool, gym, spa services etc. e.g. Sofitel.
What do budget hotels offer and what is an example ?
Room, and breakfast. e.g. Travelodge.
Who do budget hotels target ?
People who are travelling/ on a short break.
Who are guesthouses run by ?
Homeowners.
Why do people like to / enjoy staying in guest houses ?
It is an opportunity to experience local culture, it is good money and can be more personal as it is only a small business.
What facilities do guest accommodation provide ?
Room and breakfast.
What is the catering situation like in ski chalets ?
It is self - catering or catered services.
Who do youth hostels cater for ?
Mainly young people on a budget but also offer rooms for families at low prices.
What are the catering services like in youth hostels ?
It can be catered for but many are self - catered.
What are some examples of self - catered accommodation ?
log cabins / chalets, rented apartments / holiday cottages, motels, boats, caravans, tents etc.
