Clinical Pearls:
-Take as prescribed (addictive + risk of OD)
-Can take with or without food (take same way each time)
- Swallow whole (don’t crush or chew)
-Stopping suddenly may cause withdrawal symptoms
-BBW: don’ use in peds (can cause fatal respiratory depression), CYP2D6 + 3A4 substrate
-TRINITY (opioid, benzo, gabapentin) don’t use any combination
-Dispose of any unused medication (take-back program, mix with cat litter or coffee grounds)
