Indication: GERD (acid reflux), PUD
SE: long term use - B12 deficiency, hypomagnesemia, C. diff, fracture; possible increased risk of CV event w/ concurrent Clopidogrel
Clinical Pearls:
-Take 30 min before first meal
-Contents can be mixed with applesauce if Pt cannot swallow capsule
-take for full regimen (14 days) even if feeling better. Allow 4 months between treatments
-severe stomach pain or watery/bloody diarrhea, call doctor
-Store at room temp. + away from moisture and heat
Oral granules can be given via NG tube
