Indication: Hyperlipidemia
SE: arthralgia (joint pain), liver failure, rhabdomyolysis (muscle deterioration, can poison blood)
Monitor: Lipid panel, LFT, CPK
-Take at bedtime or at evening meal (if taken more than once, take w/ meals)
-make sure to keep a healthy diet + exercise (no high cholesterol foods)
-Avoid drinking alcohol (raises triglyceride levels + increases risk of liver dmg)
-Store at room temp. + keep away from moisture, heat, or light
Immediately report cases of myopathy or rhabdomyolysis (unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, weakness), especially w/fever
No grapefruit
CI: Pregnancy
