means to improve skills or knowledge within an organisation.
is an important aspect of a business as it it motivational for staff to be able up to date with developments.
it will prove the quality of products as employees have better skills and know how to work machinery.
what is on the job training?
- this type of training takes place in normal place of business
- this training takes place while
performing the normal job - usually more experience works will give instruction and advice
- also provide feedback and guidance
what is off the job training?
- This type of training is provided away from the workplace
- they attend a training centre where they specialise in training and usually conducted by specialist
what is induction training?
- this type of training is given to new employees when they joined the organisation
- that can include a tour of the premises, health and safety
- usually conducted by mangers and can take a few hour to more than a week depending on the job
what are the cost of training?
- financial costs - the cost of the course it’s self and any travel arrangements
- specialists trainers are expensive
- whisking employees are being trained there’s less no work being produced making no money
what are the benefits to training?
- employed will become more adaptable due to training and can then take on many roles.
- employees have up to date skills
- training can help employers to become motivated and productive as they are likely to be given promotion with the correct training
- providing good training and development can help an organisation to look good and gain a good reputation

formal qualifications that can be gained while working, employees will learn the skills required to gain the qualification while carrying out their job

- qualifications can take a long time to college on a part time basis
- employee may leave the organisation once qualification is gained
- costly to pay for people to carry out the training

- training is specifically tailored to suit the firms needs
- training takes place in the work place to minimal cost to the organisation
- standard of work can improve through training
- employees can gain a recognised qualification
- employee has a better chance of promotion or a wage rise when qualifications is gained

training that takes place through a career to ensure that employees stay up to date ugh the knowledge and skills are required to go a job or advance in their career. this can be in the form of online training or meeting or workshops
what are the costs of continuing professional development?
- may take people away from their work in order to complete training
- can cost the organisation money to send workers in training courses
what are the benefits of continuing professional development?
- improves the skills of staff which can lead to better quality foods or service
- motivates staff as they are better able to do their job and feel like the company is investing in their training
- ensures the organisation keeps staff up to date with mandatory training requirements
what are graduate training schemes?
programs offered by companies to people who have recently gained a degree qualified uni. they allow them to experience different aspects of the business through training.

- no guarantee of a job at the end of the training scheme.
- can be time consuming to carry out on the job training.
- graduate might leave once training is completed
what are the benefits of graduate training schemes?
- gives graduate experience of a work environment
- graduate can gain the skills required to work permanently for the organisation
- graduates can experience different departments and gain a range of skills
- organisation can decide where best to employ graduates at the end of the training scheme
