What is uniform?

A

Taken to mean the clothing provided by the organisation to undertake the role.
For the majority of staff this will be readily identifiable police uniform.
For police motorcyclists engaged in off road enforcement activity this is deemed to be the protective clothing (PPE) provided by the force for this specific purpose

A

A person commits an offence if they without lawful authority drive an MPV on either
Any common land, moorland or any land not forming part of a road
On any road being footpath, bridleway or restricted byway
Unless
They drive the MPV on any land within 15 years of a road for the purpose of parking the vehicle on the land
Or is driven there to save life or extinguish a fire

A

What is POCLAROC

A

Best used for reporting for a Minor traffic offence
P/O- point out the offence- use simple language do not use acts& sections

C- caution- use ‘when’ caution, note reply

L- legals- tell them, they are not under arrest, not obliged to stay with you

A- admin- obtain details, name & address etc

R/O- report offence

C- caution- use ‘now’ caution no more questions

6 steps to issuing a TOR

A
  1. Confirm drivers identity
  2. Check driving documents via PNC
  3. Fully compete the front of the TOR
  4. Record driving licence number
  5. Give a verbal NIP if appropriate to do so
  6. Remember to fill the TOR in correctly for the process to work

What is road traffic collision

A

If owing to the presence of a MPV on a road or other public place an accident occurs whereby:
Personal injury is caused to a person other than the driver of that MPV
Damage is caused to another vehicle (other than that MPV or a trailer drawn by it) Or
Damage is caused to an animal not in or on that vehicle or trailer drawn by it or
Damage is caused to any property on land on which he road or other public place is situated or any adjacent land

A

A collision involving a MPV on a road or other public area which causes: damage to property, constructed on, affixed to, growing in or otherwise forming part of the land where the road is
