- Differentiate the stage of diarrhoea, is it mild or severe?
- If mild then they continue the antibiotics but stay hydrated and potentially take probiotic supplements if discussed with the healthcare provider.
- If the diarrhoea becomes severe or is accompanied by bloody stools and or a high fever, they should stop the antibiotics and contact their healthcare provider immediately.
