How do thiazide diuretics work?
A
- They inhibit sodium reabsorption at the beginning of the distal convoluted tubule.
- More sodium gets through to the collecting ducts
- Potassium is lost as a result.

A
- Dehydration
- Postural hypotension
- Hyponatraemia, Hypokalaemia, hypercalcaemi
- Gout
- Impaired glucose tolerance
- Impotence
