Q

What happens under cool conditions in a computer?a

A
  • Resistance of thermistor is high.
  • Takes alot of energy to allow the current drive through the resistor: Potential difference is high in the thermistor.
  • Potential difference is shared so:
  • PD across the fan is low so operates very slow.

Q

What happens under hot conditions in a computer?a

A
  • Hot conditions= Resistance in thermistor is low.
  • Not alot of energy is needed to drive the current through the thermistort.
  • Potential difference:
  • Across thermistor= low.
-Across fan= high (so works at fast rates).
