What are biofuels?

• Fuel that is made from recently living organisms.
• Come from plants or algae.
• so..lock up the suns energy which can be released later when we burn for fuels.
• Animal Waste can be used but for a much shorter scale.

Why are biofuels seen as carbon nuetral?

Answer 2

• Although they release co2.
• Take up the co2 while the plants are growing.
• ## No OVERALL release of co2.

Pros:

• renewable reasource.
• Cheap to make.
• Easy to transport.
• Mix them with fossil fuels.
• like petrol.
• ## Benefit from bio fuels without having to get new cars.

Cons:

Answer 4

• Need somewhere to grow all of these plants.
• Converting natural land.
  E.g: cutting down forests.
• and burns trees and damages the enviroment which releases co2.
• Harvesting
• Processing.
• Transport = all require energy so more co2 being released.
