Q

What is the activity?

A
  • rate at which a source of unstable nuclei decay.
    Activity is measured in Bq.
  • 1 Bq is 1 decay per second.

Q

What is a beta particle?

A
  • A beta particle is an electron which is ejected from the nucleus at very high speed.
  • Formed inside the nucleus when a nuetron changes into a proton and electron.
