Q

What is density?

A
  • The density of a material tells us mass for the given volume.
  • Calculated with:
  • Mass/Volume.
    Density= kg/m^3
    Mass= kg.
    Volume= m^3.

Q

How do we work out the density for regular objects?

A
    • Determine the mass using a balance.
  • Work out volume we can use a ruler to measure the length of the sides,
  • Use the equation to find the desnity.

Q

How do we find the density of an irregular object?

A
  • Measure the mass using a balance.
  • Fill the eureka can with water.
  • Place the object into the water and the water will be displayed through the spout.
  • Measure the volume of the water displaced.
  • Volume is the same volume as the object.
  • Measure the density.
