Q
The consumption of the world’s resources (oil, and water etc.) is increasing at a dangerous rate. What are causes and solutions?
A
Introduction:
- The overconsumption of natural resources has evolved as a major topic of concern in recent years
- This alarming trend is caused by a several factors, and it must be addressed by a number of definite actions.
Body:
-The increasingly high level of exploitation of natural resources could be ascribed to a number of reasons.
+ Tremendous demand for resources in developing countries, such as China and Brazil
+ citizens > increasingly wealthy > afford a living standard > associated with a higher level of resource consumption
+ The over-dependence on natural resources, such as fossil fuels, is another significant reason to consider.
+ In VN the majority of electricity is generated in thermal power stations > vast amount of coal is the burnt
- there are some feasible solutions that can be taken …
+ Renewable energy sources can be developed to substitute fossil fuels in transport and manufacture.
+ GOV > campaigns > acknowledge the risks of overusing natural resources < use energy in more responsible ways.
+ Encourage people to use public transport > reduce oil consumption > the level of pollution.
